JOB OVERVIEW
Suncor is currently looking for a Journeyperson Steamfitter/Pipefitter in Extraction Maintenance. This role will be reporting to the shift supervisor in Extraction and requires active leadership to support Suncor's Journey to Zero
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Fabricate to engineering prints/ shop drawings
  • Create fabrication drawings from field measurements
  • Participate in shop autonomous improvements
  • Assist other trades to perform shop & plant maintenance when required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
  • Interprovincial (Red Seal) Journeyperson certificate and/or Alberta Journeyman Steamfitter/Pipefitter certificate
  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is a preferred qualification
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Experience fabricating piping packages in the shop environment
  • Work effectively in a flexible team environment and communicate clearly with others
  • Rigging experience is essential and fitting up large bore piping is an assets
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Suncor Energy Inc. is a Multi Skilled work environment.  With proper training, workers will be able to perform assisted work tasks with another Lead craft person
  • Position is based at Suncor Energy Inc.'s Base Mine 24km north of Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • All tools and safety gear are provided as well as an allowance for certified safety boots
  • Transportation is provided to the work site
  • Unionized environment

  • Relocation to Fort McMurray is mandatory for this position
